DC using break to rest, gear up for stretch run

WASHINGTON ? With a week and a half between league games, D.C. United have one last chance to rest and recoup before kicking off a four game, eleven day stretch that will define their season.

After Sunday?s loss to the Columbus Crew, DC players had two days off, and were back in training Wednesday preparing for the next match on October 12, a first-ever trip to Vancouver and BC Place.

The time off is much needed.

Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel presented their 2011 car, the RB7 to the media at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain on 1 February 2011.

Chief technical officer Adrian Newey explained some of the changes from the championship winning RB6 and the new RB7:

?Preparing for the new season has been an interesting challenge for all of us,? he says. ?There have been a number of changes to the regulations and while they are not as comprehensive as the changes for 2009, the major differences ? such a the re-introduction of the KERS system and the arrival of a moveable rear wing to aid overtaking ? have meant that RB7 is quite different to last year?s car.

?However, what we have done is taken the philosophy of continuing evolution. We have evolved RB6, which itself was an evolution of 2009?s RB5, and this is, if you like, the third generation of a successful lineage.?

Red Bull RB7 ? Open Fronted Exhaust Blown Diffuser (Scarbsf1's Blog)
"Despite rule changes Newey has found the loophole that allows exhausts to blow inside the diffuser for more downforce. Although the rules were revised for 2011 to try to prevent double diffuser and openings to allow the exhaust to blow inside the diffuser. The rules did permit openings in the outer 5cm of the diffuser, an area where teams have recently split the floor and created raised lip, coincidentally a practice first exploited by Newey on the RB5."

Trouble Spills His Emotions On Green Light

'Whatever I'm goin' through, I don't know how to hold nothing in, period,' rapper tells Mixtape Daily.

Real Spit: Trouble raps from a wealth of experience and usually without a filter. After the Zone 6, Atlanta, MC was released from prison on December 17, 2010, he decided to try his hand at music, using the studio as a sanctuary to get the stress off his chest. It's a process he employed on his debut December 17th mixtape and one that he once again utilizes on his newly released Green Light.

"The Green Light is self-explanatory if you think about it for a minute. It's just a go," Trouble told Mixtape Daily. "It's always been a go with me, though, for whatever I feel on the insides, whatever I'm goin' through, I don't know how to hold nothing in, period."

On the Chase N. Cashe-produced "I Can't," Trouble struggles with a cheating girlfriend. On the slow-rolling track, he displays a deep vulnerability that most street-bred rappers never show. "Down" serves as a dedication to Trouble's deceased friend AJ, and on "Seen It All" the Duct Tape Entertainment spitter tells tales of his come-up in the 'hood.

"Other folks will get it misconstrued just thinkin' that, 'Oh you're one of those bussin' rappers, you just killin' all the time,' " he said. "Hell nah, I'm a human being. I'm a grown man at the end of the day so I'm just expressin' my feelings."

It's not all emotion-driven. Trouble perfectly balances his street material with his heartfelt odes. On "Richer Pu---," Trouble bangs his chest while looking down fake industry mainstays with money. "Plenty," on the other hand, features Yo Gotti, Gucci Mane and Trouble boasting about their abundant trappings.

"On Green Light, it's a lot of different kind of music on there," Trouble said. "Sh-- that they'll f--- with in the clubs, sh-- that they gonna be able to ride to when one of their man's done got shot and be able to sit there and go back to those situations and reminisce. It's reality rap that I'm giving these folks."

I think one of the questions I'm most often asked is how do I balance it all, how do I balance being a single working mom. I try to take the pressure off of myself of having to balance everything. It's not always going to be that way and oftentimes something has to give. When I'm on set working long hours, I'm not always home for dinner. When my daughter has a soccer game on a Saturday, I make the choice to miss a work event. My children come first -- they are my first priority.

The reality is I have to work and I'm still passionate about my work. But at the end of the day, I put my kids (daughters Sam, 7, Lola, 6, and baby Eloise, whom she adopted in June) first. I like to think of it at times as organized chaos. I do my best to keep a harmonious home. One of the best parts of being a mom is seeing the world through my girls' innocent eyes. They see things that I may take for granted. I remember when Lola was just learning to walk, she literally stopped to smell the roses we had in our yard. I love that.

I think my daughters have taught me one of my biggest lessons in that I need to really enjoy the moment. Before I had my girls, I was always focused on the future and what was next without really soaking in what was going on around me now. My daughters are like sponges and very observant and they're just in the moment. It's a wonderful thing for me to get back to.

I recently started turning my phone off once a week and just spend that day with my kids with no outside distractions. I actually didn't realize how much I used my phone until I turned it off! Its a fantastic change I made and being present with my girls is the best gift I could give them.
